Since I painted my nails with snowflakes for Christmas, which you can find here: Snowflake nails, I have fallen back in love with nail art again. Therefor I wanted to paint my nails for New Year’s Eve with 2017 and 2018 on them. Because I think fireworks are an essential part of the night, I wanted my nails to look like fireworks. You can obviously make the fireworks with any colours you like, but I chose blueish green for one hand, and pinks and purples for the other. You can also choose only one colour for both hands, whatever floats your boat! Let’s get started. Here you can see the polishes that I used; I have to say though that the darker purple and green didn’t show up as much as I would have liked.
First paint your nails with a base coat and one coat of black. I used Sally Hanson double duty, strengthening base & top coat and a black polish by the HEMA.
Besides the black and the base/topcoat I used the following:
Left hand:
- Catrice 55: get the blues, holographic nail polish
- Catrice 09: Hugo Moss, dark green
- Rimmel London 454: Nymph, blueish green
Right hand:
- Catrice 45: Kitch me if you can, a
- chunky pink glitter
- Catrice 14: Purple reign, a slightly sparkly purple
- Rimmel London 520: euphoria a metallic pink
For both hands I used Rimmel London 703 white hot love to paint the letters.
Left hand:
I painted my nails all over with the holographic nail polish.
Then I added crosses of four and three lines with the two other colours to resemble fireworks.
Lastly, I painted on “2017”, one number on each of my fingernails (skipping my thumb).
Right hand:
I painted my nails all over with the pink glitter.

Your two hands should now be ready for new year’s eve!
