I have talked about Lush before on my blog, and I am generally a fan of their brand. I think it is amazing that they focus on reducing packaging, recycling whatever packaging they do produce and making their products cruelty free, vegetarian and even vegan. The last product of Lush that I mentioned on this blog was a face mask, the Lush rosy cheeks. Thelast couple of months however I have been trying out a new face product, but this time a cleanser instead of a mask, and boy I am a fan!
The ingredients of this facial cleanser are:
- Maize flour and polenta – this gives a nice scrubby texture
- Cinnamon – this gives a lovely scent and is stimulating for the skin
- Corn oil – this leaves your skin feeling very soft
- Glycerine
- Talc
- Water
- Perfume
- Gardenia extract
- Popcorn
When I tried this product out in the store, the scent was what really sold me. I love cinnamon, but this has a different, sweet scent layered on top of that. I even find that when I have used this product, my face smells really nice!
This product comes in a black tub, and it is quite a stiff mix, which you can scoop out with your fingers. It can be mixed with a bit of water in your hands to make it a bit easier to apply to your skin, but I find using it undiluted gives a bit more of a scrub. I do think the bits of popcorn in it are a bit annoying, since they are a useless in scrubbing and take up space that could otherwise be filled with the amazing product itself!

As I said, the scent is what sold me, but the texture is what keeps me using it. The cleanser has a nice scrub to it, and the corn oil leaves your skin feeling silky smooth. Every time I use this, I feel like I have given my face a nice scrub, but I have also given it the nourishment or hydration I would normally get from a day cream.
What I also love is the fact that it is self-preserving, so it can be kept outside of the fridge (i.e. in your bathroom ;)) and it will last for 3 months. I have almost had this tub for 3 months and it is still not empty.
All in all, I just want to say, if you are ever in a Lush, smell and try this product and I hope you will love it just as much as I do.
